Holly Stubbs
Associate
Holly Stubbs is a passionate trial advocate who works tirelessly for her clients. Her experience prior to becoming a trial lawyer allows her to provide a fresh perspective and unique insights to her clients. Holly started her career teaching economics and then worked internationally as a human rights advocate. After graduating from Columbia Law School, Holly worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Michael J. Seng of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, as well as for the Honorable Micaela Alvarez of the United States District Court for the Sothern District of Texas.
As a trial attorney, Holly has applied her diverse skillset to assist clients in all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts. Holly, has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in multi-million-dollar disputes, consistently delivering positive results for her clients. Holly has experience arguing and winning dipositive motions, as well as first-chair trial experience. Her deep expertise both in and out of the courtroom gives her the insight to successfully guide clients through the complex legal system.
Background
Holly holds a B.A. from the College of Idaho in International Political Economy and History, Summa Cum Laude, and earned her law degree from Columbia Law School, graduating as a Harlon Fiske Stone Scholar and earning the David W. Leebron Human Rights Fellowship and the Lowenstein Fellowship. During law school, she traveled to Porgera, Papua New Guinea as part of an interdisciplinary team that investigated human rights abuses related to gold mining. At Columbia, Holly was a legal intern at human rights organizations in South Africa, Myanmar, and New York. She was also an articles editor for the Columbia Human Rights Law Review and a Constitutional Law Teacher for the High School Law Institute.
Immediately after law school, Holly worked as a human rights advocate and lawyer, conducted research projects around the world, and was a founding member of the Human Rights Methodology Lab—a collaboration between the New York University School of Law, Columbia Law School and Human Rights Watch—that developed innovative methods for collecting evidence for large-scale social rights projects.
Before entering private practice as general commercial litigator, Holly clerked for the Honorable Michael J. Seng of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and for the Honorable Micaela Alvarez of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
